Keith’s first attempt at stand-up comedy ended in polite clapping … that is, total disaster. He was 30 years old, and for some reason his evolving “set” had shifted dramatically in the direction of “jokes about old people” … so imagine his surprise when he hit the stage for showtime to find an audience of 65-90 year olds. That’s right: the coveted Atlantic City casino bus demographic. Keith’s jokes (On Mick Jagger: “You know you’ve been at it too long when the cucumber is falling out of your Depends”) fell on deaf ears … literally, in some cases. That was his first attempt at standup comedy; there will be no second attempt.
